RSO Condemns Drug mafia terrorist Arakan Army’s Revival of “Nasaka System” and Systematic Campaign to Erase Rohingya from Arakan
- November 16, 2025
The Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) expresses grave concern and strong condemnation over the Drug mafia terrorist Arakan Army’s (AA) systematic reimplementation of the notorious “Nasaka system” a framework of control and persecution historically used by Myanmar’s border security forces to suppress, isolate, and dehumanize the Rohingya population in Arakan (Rakhine) State.
Resurgence of the Nasaka-Style Oppression
Drug mafia Terrorist AA has resumed strict household inspections and population verification procedures modeled after the former Nasaka regime. Families are now forced to present not only their official Immigration Department household lists but also the long-defunct Nasaka population registers documents that were previously abolished for being tools of discrimination and ethnic segregation, even if someone somehow manage to show that, they decline that by lame excuses.
Those unable to produce these outdated records are being denied access to employment, business activities, and even humanitarian aid. Reports indicate that AA operatives and allied administrators are extorting hundreds of thousands of kyats from Rohingya families to register births, deaths, and household movements.
Extortion, Humiliation, and Collective Punishment
Field sources confirm that when a member of a Rohingya family travels or goes missing, AA personnel mark the household record with red ink, labeling the person as “Bengali”. Following this, the entire family, including women, children, and the elderly is photographed, interrogated, and intimidated. Many victims describe the process as humiliating and fear-driven, recalling the darkest days of the pre-2017 Nasaka operations.
In recent weeks, the AA has also banned Rohingya businesses, looted property and livestock, and targeted wealthier families with violent extortion. Several cases of sexual violence and abduction of Rohingya women have been reported, with victims still missing and no accountability for the perpetrators.
A Campaign to Empty Arakan of Its Indigenous Rohingya people
RSO strongly asserts that these acts are not isolated incidents but form part of a coordinated campaign to terrorize and depopulate the remaining Rohingya communities in northern Arakan.
By weaponizing fear, economic strangulation, and demographic manipulation, the AA aims to:
Make life unbearable for the Rohingya and force them into permanent displacement , ensuring an “Arakan without Rohingya.”
While the AA publicly claims to oppose the Myanmar junta, its actions mirror the junta’s own policies of exclusion, collective punishment, and engendered demographic changes . Through this campaign of systematic persecution, the AA has effectively positioned itself as an ethnic-cleansing force under the guise of “local administration.”
Violation of International Law
Myanmar is a signatory to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which guarantees every child the right to identity, education, and healthcare. The AA’s enforced household registration, coupled with denial of recognition to Rohingya families, has stripped Rohingya children of their legal existence and access to essential services.
Such practices constitute clear violations of international humanitarian and human rights law and may amount to crimes against humanity under the Rome Statute.
Renewed Displacement and Humanitarian Risk
RSO field sources report a growing number of families preparing to flee once again toward the Bangladesh border or to embark on dangerous maritime routes toward Malaysia and Indonesia.
And all of these extortion, abduction, and restriction is serving a single objective = to ensure a Rohingya-free Arakan through terror, fear, and deprivation.
RSO’s Position
The Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) reaffirms that the Rohingya people are the indigenous inhabitants of Arakan and reject all attempts by any armed group or political entity to erase their identity, seize their land, or silence their voice. We call upon the United Nations, OIC, ASEAN, and international human rights bodies to immediately investigate the AA’s actions and hold its leadership accountable for grave violations against civilians.
RSO remains committed to the peaceful and dignified repatriation of all Rohingya to their homeland, the restoration of justice, and the protection of our people from all forms of persecution and genocide.
