Official Clarification Statement by the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO)

In Response to Recent Misleading and Politically Motivated Reports

The Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) issues this statement to firmly refute several misleading and politically motivated claims circulating in recent propaganda reports. These fabrications distort our mission, misrepresent our identity, and falsely link us to agendas that contradict our principles, values, and established record of conduct.

01. RSO reaffirms the full legitimacy of our struggle. The Rohingya people have endured decades of persecution, statelessness, and systematic violence and genocide in Arakan. Our movement exists solely to defend the basic rights, dignity, and collective survival of our community, and to secure a safe, voluntary, and dignified return to our homeland. Our objectives are grounded in international law, including the Geneva Conventions, the UN Charter, and universally recognized human-rights norms. We have never pursued any activity beyond this lawful and moral mandate.

02. RSO completely rejects claims connecting us with any foreign entity, intelligence service, militant outfit, or extremist network. These allegations have no basis in fact. Beyond the absence of any connection, our internal strategic doctrine explicitly prohibits cooperation with any global extremist or terrorist organization. As a people who have suffered from extremism, discrimination, and targeted violence, we consider it impermissible, ethically, legally, and spiritually to align with such actors. Our movement is independent, community-centered, and accountable only to the Rohingya people’s lawful aspirations.

03. RSO emphasizes that we hold no agenda outside the Rohingya cause. We do not seek regional instability, do not engage in cross-border politics, and do not involve ourselves in any conflict or issue unrelated to the survival and security of our own community. We strongly respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internal stability of all states, especially the host countries that continue to shelter our displaced people with generosity and compassion. Our commitment to peaceful coexistence has been consistent and unwavering.

04. Despite RSO repeatedly clarifying its stance over many years, this stream of propaganda keeps resurfacing because these reports are part of a coordinated disinformation campaign run by deeply unethical actors. These groups are driven by illicit interests, political agendas, and operate in full collaboration with the Buddhist-extremist, drug-mafia terrorist Arakan Army (AA) and the extremist Hidutva intelligence outfit R&W, both of which are Islamophobic. Their shared goal is to oppress the Rohingya people, distort our rightful struggle, and deliberately dehumanize our community by portraying us as a manufactured security threat. We therefore warn the global community, especially Muslim-majority nations to be extremely cautious of these coordinated lies.

These fabricated narratives align directly with the AA’s ongoing campaign of forced displacement and its long-standing ambition to eliminate every remaining Rohingya from their homeland. By manufacturing false linkages, inventing conspiracies, and spreading sensationalized allegations of islamic terrorism, these actors attempt to justify ongoing Genocide and create international confusion around the rapidly worsening situation on the ground. We therefore urge all journalists, researchers, and analysts to reject these unethical propaganda pieces, verify every claim with integrity, and stand with oppressed communities rather than becoming unwitting amplifiers of narratives designed to Legitimize next Rohingya genocide.

RSO remains committed to peace, transparency, and the lawful pursuit of justice for our people, and we call upon all stakeholders to reject disinformation and uphold accuracy in matters concerning the Rohingya community.
