UN Report Confirms Atrocities by the Terrorist Arakan Army and Myanmar Forces

A new United Nations (UN) report by Special Rapporteur Thomas Andrews (20 October 2025) has confirmed what the Rohingya people have been enduring for years , systematic atrocities carried out by both the Myanmar military and the Drug mafia terrorist Arakan Army (AA) across Arakan State.

According to the report, mass killings, deliberate arson, sexual violence, and forced displacement have driven more than 150,000 Rohingya civilians to flee to Bangladesh between 2024 and 2025. Entire Rohingya villages in Buthidaung, Maungdaw, Pyin Phyu, and Ramree Island were targeted, burned, and emptied of their residents.

The terrorist Arakan Army (AA) is directly accused of extrajudicial executions, arbitrary arrests, and burning Rohingya villages, as confirmed by UN-analyzed satellite imagery showing widespread destruction in Than Htaung Khan village. The report also exposes how the AA forcibly recruits Rohingya, imposes movement restrictions, and extorts money from families attempting to flee , creating a deliberate system of persecution.

These are not isolated acts of war but part of a coordinated campaign of terror and ethnic cleansing, where both the Myanmar military and the Arakan Army target Rohingya civilians with complete impunity.

The UN findings reaffirm years of documentation by Rohingya human rights defenders and the RSO, proving that the drug mafia Arakan Army’s actions mirror the same genocidal methods once used by the Myanmar military ~ to kill, displace, and erase the Rohingya identity.

The RSO urges the international community to act now , through targeted sanctions, international prosecutions, and global accountability mechanisms to hold both perpetrators accountable. The Rohingya people cannot endure another round of reports without real justice.
